Digging for bait
It was pretty bleak on the Isle of Sheppey today. It was raining heavily as I crossed the bridge and the roads were so slick that I skated round a roundabout sideways. After a while the wind decided to get in on the act so the rain was driving in horizontally and slicing through all but the sturdiest wet-weather gear. Thus I was very impressed to see this guy digging for bait on the beach at Leysdown - there wasn't much warming up the wind that was ripping down across the North Sea from somewhere much further north but here he is looking for lugworms. No wonder he's pausing to scratch his head............
