I came home...
...tired after an intense lipreading and listening session. I fell asleep as soon as I got in and didn't wake until 7:30pm...oh dear...I still needed to do my pic a day.
So I shut cat Popeye in a room so he couldn't aid in my painting endeavours.
Then I attempted something again on the lines of yesterday. But I had seen a You Tube video on dirty pour flow painting earlier where someone had used WD40 in their flow painting because of the silicone in it...there are many videos that say this. But WD 40 doesn't have silicone in it. It says so on the spray can.
Okay. To satisfy myself I decided to use WD 40 in place of the isopropyl alcohol I used yesterday. Then I can at least discount WD 40 from my experiments.
Also, in place of the white acrylic, because I am using a lot, I decided I had some white household emulsion somewhere in the garage....but it was matt...I needed something more shiny. So the only answer I decided was to add some pva glue...and I added a tad of water 'cos I had a sticky gunky mess by now.
I shouldn't be experimenting at gone 8pm in an ill lit garage or when Brain decides it is not going to assist me.
Note to self...improve lighting in the garage.
Basically the next bit is more or less the same yesterday.
The pic on the left is the main canvas. It was almost too dark to get a decent photo by now. This was the best I could do.
The picture on the right has 3 pieces of photo paper (actually two were out of the photo), and this was dipped into the tray where the excess paint gathered. I was quite surprised what emerged from the photo paper. Again this was the best photo I could take under the dim conditions. I am taking them with my phone.
I noticed the bigger canvas was 'crackling' a bit where the paint was thin. This has to be where there was thinner acrylic paint and an excess of WD 40. I think I used too much WD 40 overall. The photo paper ones were drying. So maybe the canvas one will. I wasn't expecting it to by now. We shall see in the morning.
Note to self...I badly need a drying stacking system of sorts in the garage...
Note to self...too much to do...
This is my pic for today for my challenge to myself of a pic every day in 2017.
By the way the paintings I did yesterday looked pretty good this morning. I was pleasantly surprised.
