Dilemma
This blip is of an elder tree in my garden. I didn't plant it, so it must have been a present from a bird. It grew up in the hedge between my garden and next doors and I never really even noticed it until it got to the height of the hedge. Once it cleared the hedge, it sent out a horizontal branch which has got bigger and bigger over the last few years. It has now become a bit of a monster and is obscuring my lovely view of the Ochils and is in the only south facing bed in the garden which I know could be put to much better use. but I love the big creamy flower heads and the privacy and the birds love the berries. My dilemma is - do I get the professionals in to cut it down or do I prune it back drastically, hope it recovers and keep on top of it from now on? On the other hand, I really don't want to annoy the Elder Mother so maybe i should just leave it be and let the birds enjoy the berries.... ??https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elder_Mother
