Budokan

My student and I went for a run before breakfast, taking the train towards the area of the Imperial Palace where we ran round a very well used 5km circuit. On our way there and back, we ran padt the Nippon Budokan which, although used as a venue for concerts - some famous ones - is principally used for martial arts competitions. As a judoka, my student was particularly pleased to see it. For me the conditions were far too warm and humid to run at a good pace, but I had the satisfaction of navigating back to the hotel past several small areas of Tokyo which have become familiar during the course of the week.
