FlowerFriday 18: Candlestick Cassia
...or Senna Alata, is a large plant ( 8-10 ft tall) with bright yellow flower spikes. This one lives joyfully in our front yard and is a nectar and larval food plant for the Cloudless Sulphur and Orange-barred Sulphur Butterflies. Another Cassia (Senna) growing in our yard is the Popcorn Cassia. It's yellow flowers smell just like popped corn! Another Thank You to BikerBear for continuing to host FlowerFriday!
...Just a note to those of you who might be interested. The butterfly I blipped yesterday has been identified (thanks to dbifulco) as a 'Pipevine' Swallowtail and not a Black Swallowtail. Glance back for more info. :)
