Whoosh!
And just like that, another day has whizzed by!
Lots of little things happening and getting done today. Too mundane to write about. We did have some lovely things happen today though.
First of all the father and son garden designer and landscaper (both called Bruce so easy to remember) visited with their initial designs for the side garden (better known now as Alan's garden as it's all geared around him.) They had two designs, one quite curvy and more traditional and one more contemporary with straighter lines. Both are lovely and they have clearly put in a lot of thought into the design and Alan's needs.
We had a lovely (and long) discussion about each design and the fact we now have to factor a dog into the mix (that led to a doggy conversation that lasted nearly an hour with Bruce Jnr showing us photos of his gorgeous black lab called Skye. We are becoming doggy obsessed :-))
Anyway, to cut a long story short, they are going to tweak the contemporary design slightly as that was our preferred option, and our next discussion will be about planting although we have already decided on a bamboo hedge along the boundary wall to help deaden outside noise.
It was fantastic to see the design though as I am very much a visual person, and they have included all that we asked for but weren't sure they could fit into the modest space - water feature, raised beds, bird table and bath and a covered seating area. They are hoping to start at the beginning of September, so not long. I am really excited about this space and think Alan will love spending time there relaxing and gardening.
The landscapers and painter and decorator are all going to be arriving within days of the puppy!
Alan chose to wear his Golden Retriever t-shirt today even though he was supposed to keep it till the day the puppy arrives. He also played a game called Soggy Doggy with Ashleigh this afternoon and thought it was hilarious. I wonder if he will think it's funny when Lola gets wet and shakes herself on him!
Carole sent him of a video of all the puppies and he was enthralled watching it. She is hoping to decide this weekend, which of the girls she is keeping, so hopefully by the start of the week, we will know which puppy we are getting. I will be delighted with any of the girls.
Alan received two belated birthday cards today. One from Gill that was choc full of coloured 21 confetti and tiny silver stars. It went everywhere! Thanks Gill :D The other was from my blip pal Karen and he loves it (see extra) Thanks K. It's on his bedside table! :D
And now it's almost midnight and I am so sorry that I've not had a blip catch up again! I promise to try harder, but for now it's off to bed for the next chapter of No Brainer Dog Trainer!!
RIP Brucie. Thanks for all the laughs <3
