Safe and secure

Perhaps not the most interesting of photographs but a very interesting day visiting 2 of Scotland's 4 independent secure units. The 4 units provide around 90 beds for those young people who need to be detained either because they are on remand from the courts, or because there are welfare needs for their or society's protection.

Interestingly many places are the ccupied by those placed there from England.

The two units we visited had some differences but the fundamental was the caring staff who wanted to do all they could to help those young people referred into their care.
