Blustery Day

Somehow, walking in the wind, and the rain, trees blowing around, it seemed appropriate to be listening to the new Mumford and Sons album. I'm not sure why, but the thumbing folk-pop seemed apt for this weather.

It may not be breaking much new ground, but I am enjoying 'Babel'. There is a raw energy in the way he sings, and his lyrics invoke a spiritual struggle I can often identify with. I saw them in the Queens Hall just after the release of their first album. Such a great venue, perfectly suited. Their popularity means I am unlikely to see them again live in such an intimate setting.
