Dual birthday

My dad and my younger brother everett have birthdays on August 16 and 17.  So my two brothers and I met at a Mexican restaurant to have a mild celebration.  It is the first birthday my Dad has gone through since my mother passed away a mere two months ago.  It was a bit sad and somewhat surreal for all of us.... noticing her absence in our lives and at the table.   We also talked about my mom's passing.  So carrying on in life - whilst traversing one of the larger losses.  I am getting through.
