Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair

It was another sunny day, but unlike yesterday the wind was light. We cycled along the track beside Loch a’Bhraoin to Lochivraon bothy where we left our bikes. We walked on the track west towards Loch an Nid, before crossing the burn and heading up to the col between the east top of Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair and the other Munro top of Sgurr Dubh. We left our packs at the col and scrambled along to Sgurr Dubh where the blip was taken, looking to Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair itself. Sgurr Dubh is an outlier of gneiss, unlike the rest of the hill which is mainly quartzite. We then went over the east top and on to the summit before heading north to Sgurr Ban, where we went down the slabs to rejoin our ascent route. The walk back to the bikes was hot, but the bikes saved us loads of time on our way to the van. We achieved our objective of going up the 2 tops, so the number to compleat decreased again. We then drove slightly north along the desolation road until we found somewhere to stop. The extra is the view we had, from the van, of the sunset over An Teallach.
