Break....

....from the curtain call photos!
Good day, on the go the whole time. After bacon rolls we set off to the Traverse and saw a really clever and moving show called 'Nassim' about an Iranian playwright's memories of home, and language connections/barriers between people. Beautifully done. Then went on a search for a new raincoat for S....tried loads of places but no luck. We passed the Portrait Gallery on our search and popped in to see the 'Black Burns' statue. The artist had made a copy of the famous Burns statue (at the back here in white marble) in black marble and then shattered it. All the busts around the hall were turned away from the scene. Interesting stuff
In the afternoon saw a physical theatre/mimed show with live music called 'Translunar Paradise' (not sure why!). Beautifully acted...great use of masks.
After all that walking didn't feel too naughty to go for fish and chips before an opera binge with Verdi's Macbeth. Totally OTT staging by the Italian company-a wall of sound and contrasts between dark and blood red costumes and scenery. All great, but slightly odd to see Birnam Wood portrayed as a mass of prickly pear cactus!
