Memorial chapel
The memorial chapel was the former statue of the Wilhelmina State Mine. After closing the mining in 1969, it served as a tranformator station. Thanks to the initiative of the Foundation Memorial Chapel the building is since 2002 a memorial chapel for the 1455 in the Limburg mines killed miners .Special is the image of patron saint Barbara made by S. Drummen (1922-1996) and the windows by G. Baumler (1930-2003).
The chapel was commissioned by the Bishop Wiertz van Roermond.
On the plates to the left and right of the chapel are the names and years of the 1455 killed miners.
I have photographed the windows before and can be seen here.
