The good news is that IT management have given up on their crazy plan to outsource the entire IT function (selling off us staff as part of the deal).
The bad news is that we still need to save 20% - 25% of costs.
We have all been offered the chance to get Voluntary Severance - i.e. a pay-off.
Tricky decision to make.
Mainly because it's not clear what the slimmed-down and reorganised department will be like.
A lot of people are tempted.
And a lot of people who have just left or who have resigned are wishing that they had waited a bit.
