Running in the Heather

I've heard that the heather is in full bloom in the Peak District and I was tempted to drive to take a look.

But given the state of my knee and a general lack of sleep, and the fact I have to travel to Anglesey on Monday, I opted instead to take Basil to Beacon Hill, where a small patch of heather lies just below the lone birch tree above the car park.

As you can see, Basil enjoyed running amongst the clumps of heather and up on the hill itself.

Prawns, once more, for supper. And joy of joys, a new series of Inspector Montalbano has returned to BBC 4 on Saturday evenings.
