Great Willowherb

I have always been fascinated that the hairy stems of great willowherb appear to give a glow-like appearance especially when they are backlit. This patch of willow herb is growing alongside the reeds around Seafield Pond and I have been using it as my backup image for blips over the last three or four days. However, this afternoon the sun was shining brightly and they appeared to be absolutely glowing so brightly that I could not expect ever to get better lighting and setting them against the darkness of the pond water makes them even more vibrant.
