concrete dice

Slow start on Sunday developed into a frenzy to catch the bus along the coast. Got a family ticket for the Lothian and East Coast busses. We walked from Aberlady to North Berwick along the beach. Fantastic day, pleasant sunshine and no wind. The water was very cold though although some foolish kids did go for a paddle. The East Lothian beaches are spectacular. Really nice to see how their character is different from one beach to another. Some are glorious sand, others large pebbles and shingles, others are weathered rocks. It took a while to do the 10km - I blame the sand. We saw plenty of birds, one roe deer and two hares.

I am totally fascinated by these coastal defences. Concrete dice, scattered by giants.

Update: Pictures on flickr.
