And suddenly it was summer ...
A grey morning. Dry, but grey. And it looked as if it was going to be a grey afternoon as well. One big cloud even looked dark enough for rain, but the forecast said no. It looked brighter to the south, so south we went. We saw lighter sky round past the Ardyne, and a glimpse of blue sky over Loch Striven. On we went.
We parked beside the loch and started our walk in pale sunshine. We had passed the refuelling base when it began to feel ... warm. The blue patch of sky had spread, the clouds drifting apart and dissolving. And then it was summer again - despite the yellowing leaves, the ripening brambles. And for what remained of the afternoon we basked in this reminder of what could be, in Scotland, in summer.
