When Smoke Gets In Your Eyes
Wildfires can create some dramatic photo opportunities. I took this photo in August of 2015, during a large wildfire in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, located on the flanks of Mt. Adams. The setting sun turned the smoke pink and silhouetted the deer on the ridge miles south of the fire.
The tens of thousands of people arriving in the Pacific NW for the eclipse, have fire officials concerned about the increased possibility of human caused fires.
