The "Get Carter" carpark.

This is the carpark in Gateshead used in the 1971 cult gangster movie Get Carter starring Michael Caine.It is a 12 storey monstrosity, where Caine hurled Bryan Mosley (Coronation Street) , playing a corrupt property developer, over the stairwell parapet to his death.Most people in Gateshead hate it , but it had a cult following, including Sylvester Stallone, who wanted to preserve it. The town's people won and things are in place for it to be demolished this week.
