Lavender

This beautiful pot of lavender was a gift from two of CCN's closest friends. They called in on Sunday and were able to give her great comfort in such a sad time.

We both decided the other day that our little veggie patch, which is right outside the kitchen window could in fact be part veggie patch and part exotic plants such as the beautiful iris plant that 59 gave us a few months ago. The wallabies had already had a nibble and I think we rescued the iris just in the nick of time. We thought, how lovely to look out of the window when we're making a cup of tea and see these two very precious plants.

It is CCN's birthday today and we have had quiet day all round, although our lovely friends Jim and Margaret, Bob and Irene called in this afternoon and enjoyed the good old date and lemon scones with jam and cream with us. We were to celebrate Jim's 89th birthday on Sunday as well so it was fitting that we invited them over today.
