Blue beauty

I spotted a lot of these blue creatures by the pond on Southampton Common today, I presume they are dragonflies. This is the best my camera can do in terms of a photo but it was better than I expected. Amazing creatures. There was a lot to see on the common today, the cygnets have really grown and we're preening themselves and getting into all sorts of funny positions. The extras are of one of the cygnets and another of the lovely purple flowers (purple loosestrife I think).
