Detour

Well what a morning!

As we now have to go by car to yoga we car share. Fortunately it wasn't my turn to drive.

On the journey there we had been discussing how we seemed to have missed the worst of the stormy weather however, during the class we heard a tree branch crashing down outside the building. Our yoga teacher then got a phone call to advise that her lift wasn't able to collect her as a tree had come down on their road and he couldn't get out. We offered to take her as far as we could. This is a picture of the first tree that we saw that had been blown down. Luckily the people in the car on the other side had not come to any harm. We saw many more branches and have also heard of many more trees that have come down and a power cut in a nearby village.

We were not able to go back the way we came so had to continue a detour - a 28 mile detour. A journey that would normally take around 10 minutes has taken nearly an hour.

I also took some shots of a couple of council workers who were cutting up and removing another fallen tree but I preferred this one of a fellow yoga buddy leaping out to see what had happened. If you look at the trees you can almost see them blowing around in the wind.
