Detail of a door
I was out with our local walking group on an 11 mile walk to Ottery St Mary. It was an interesting walk centering on Samuel Coleridge who was born in Ottery St Mary. We had various poems read out at relevant points including The Ancient Mariner, Kubla Khan and one read outside the Pixie Cave. The Church in Ottery St Mary has an astronomical clock dating from the 14th Century, and outside the Church there are some interesting old doors see extra for the full view of todays blip and the clock.
A great walk if a little long, with weather much better than forecast. We could even see Haytor with a bit of imagination and binoculars from one of the hills. Oh and we also saw a small group of deer race across the field towards a neighbouring field of donkeys.
