Machu Picchu from Intipata

A distant view of Machu Picchu sitting perched on a ridge overlooking the Urubamba gorge. The river drops 1000m in 32km and downcuts through the altiplano.

We have to walk all the way down into the river valley to catch a train from the end of the line to Aguas Calliente where we stay, prior to our visit to Machu Picchu in the morning.
