Baby shower!!

I've got to say I'm not into this whole baby shower thing, it's all very American and self indulgent!! What's the etiquette of these things? Do u take a gift with you and then expected to bring ANOTHER gift when the baby arrives?? Anyhow, I opted to do games.... Filling nappies with various minging fillings and getting people to eat baby food!! The thing about providing the games is you don't have to participate! Gemma seemed to enjoy it all tho and I guess that's what matters really :)
