1033. August Photo Challenge #reflection
This is not actually a reflection in the simplest form of the word…more of a reflection on something that I saw on our recent trip to Thurso. Our hosts took us along the coast and we saw lots of things I have never seen before in terms of the landscape and the views…all of which were spectacular….but one place in particular struck a chord with me…
This tiny dish is a piece by a Norwegian ceramic artist by the name of Lotte Glob….http://www.lotteglob.co.uk
Her work reflects not only her heritage but also the Scottish landscapes she has made her own…she produces the most amazing works full of flights of fancy and incredibly organic in origin…..I loved her work…it captured the beauty of the landscape around where she lives in terms of form, colour and texture…all of her reflections of her environment were amazing and beautifully crafted…..
I loved this little dish with it’s blues and greens…the centre is formed with crushed glass and the deep blue colour comes not from the glass but the glaze beneath it and perfectly reflects the lochs and waters around this area….
