Doors to make a statement.
With their majestic columns, this pair of doorways caught my eye today. If one doesn't have a stately drive to one's entrance, stick up a couple of columns instead. The door on the left looks to be of the original dimensions with its original stone plinth. The door on the right has rather let the side down!
I had a wonderful couple of hours exploring the fascinating market town of Barnard Castle in Teesdale en route from Darlington, where Mum caught her train home to Devon. An ancient bridge spans the River Tees beneath the remains of the castle and the town itself and is highly photogenic. But these doors trumped the bridge today!
