An Outing

Dear Diary,

I finally made it out in the car for the first time in 10 days.  Emerson was in need of food so I had to go.  I did pretty well too.  (I came home and took a two hour nap but I digress.)

I wish I could say this gorgeous hibiscus was in my garden but it is next to an outdoor patio of a favorite restaurant of mine.  The blooms are the size of a dinner plate.  It seems that this is the time of year when I am overly fixated on flowers.  I guess I know what is coming and I want to hang on to this beautiful time of year.

Actually, every time of year has its own unique and special beauty.  I think one of things I have always try to do is savor whatever is in my world at the time be it flowers or frost.

My dear Matt will be here around noon to start cleaning up the garden which is in sore need of weeding and deadheading.  I will go out from time to time but I just don't have the energy yet for any serious gardening.  I am so grateful to have Matt.
