Canal Day 1

It was a long journey down.  Me, G and Dad in one car, Mum, R and Ash in another.  Nose to tail traffic for miles was causing R's Landrover to over heat so we pulled off the motorway to regroup and make a plan of action.  They waited a little while for the vehicle to cool down whilst we let SatNav find our way along the back roads to the Marina.  They weren't too long behind us as we'd just finished up in the farm shop by the time they arrived.

We were all loaded on to the canal and on our way by 3pm.  We hit a stretch and found this guy coming along angrily behind us.  He was going some fair speed to catch up with us.  We passed his lady on her nest but still not happy with our presence he started attacking the rope fender on the back of the boat until we were a safe distance away (or he'd tired himself out).

We continued up the Trent and Mersey before mooring up for the night.
