Reopening the landscape
These horse pastures close to my office have been blipped before, from another angle.
The old agricultural landscape needs management - grazing is necessary and trees will have to be taken down now and then. Otherwise the pastures will eventually become forest and the plants and animals that thrive in the open landscapes will disappear. In the old days this landscape type was managed because we needed the products from it. Today we do it as "artificial respiration".
