The story of the chair
When I had to medically retire at 40 from teaching, due to losing my sight in right eye, I was incredibly challenged. But I believe we are never given anything we cannot deal with. At the same time a very good friend of mine became ill and due to having been given the time I was able to help. With no family in Edinburgh, it was hard for her. I felt it a great honour that I was able to nurse my friend for the last 2 1/2 years of her life.
Losing her in May was an even bigger challenge than loss of sight as it came on the back of the death of my wonderful father it made it that more difficult . The picture is of my friend's chair which her children gave to me as it is a 'old lady' chair and will be very helpful when my Mum comes up as she just had her 4th hip replacement.
Bruno (my cat) has his own chair, Harris Tweed don't you know, but as you can see, he eventually claimed this one as well. The bottom picture is him sitting on my lap. But to be fair, his chair was in that sunny spot.
I can not sit and remember my friend and all the happy times we shared. She was a truly awesome lady.
