Frankenstein's Tree
The arborists returned today to continue their work on the maple tree next door to our townhouse. It was damaged in the ice storm a couple of years ago and was splitting. A decision was made to save the tree. Much trimming was done and now they are installing a bunch of steel rods all over to hold it together. Nuts and bolts sticking out give it a bit of a Frankentstein's monster effect. I'm not sure if that's the final materials or not. We'll see. The leaves cover most of the metalwork but come fall and winter, it will likely become brutally obvious. It's better than them cutting down the tree altogether, though. There is (or was) as new squirrel nest up there. Not sure if they moved themselves or were encouraged to move.
