A bit of history

This is a cabman's ( taxi drivers ) shelter. Looking like a garden shed these buildings were set up in London from 1875 onwards to offer shelter for the drivers of Hansom cabs and Hackney carriages ( Taxis) They were not to be larger than a horse and cart and sold food and drink to cabbies. Thirteen still exist and are listed buildings. This one is in Russel Square.
