Dreamland / Margate

Staff away day.  So much fun!

We all (19 of us, out of a total of 25 staff) met up at Kings Cross at 10am, and caught the train down to Margate.  First up was a paddle (for some of us) in the surprisingly warm and calm sea, then a delicious lunch at the Sun Deck, a collection of outdoor eateries (I had a breaded scallops 'po boy' and chips - oh, and then cake and coffee!)

After that, we were all free to do whatever we wanted, so around a third of us headed straight for Dreamland while the others wandered off around the Old Town and to the Turner Gallery.  I forewent the culture for all the fun of the fair - and proper fun it was, too.  I kept getting cramp in my face from laughing and smiling so much :)

We went on a spinny swingy chair thing first (on which I learnt that in order to keep my lunch down I must close my eyes), then the dodgems, then a big bumpy slide, the chair-o-plane ride and back for a quick slide before rushing to catch the train home at 5pm.

My forties are going OK so far...!  :D
