CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE

Second day in Angola and we are visiting a school outside Huambo.

Fagforbundet's project with SOS Children's Villages include an SOS school for more than 750 children and is a modern school. However the need for upgrading schools in the province is huge. For two year ago we visited this school, in on of the class rooms the kids were sitting on the floor, 50 pupils in a dark room with no air.

We have therefore contributed to make this school a little bit better. The building is painted, the room has more light and air, and they have have now desks and chairs. The price for one desk is 120 $ since they have to import it.

447 kids are pupils at the school, and they share just two class rooms. Some go in the morning and the rest in the afternoon. There is no water, no administration office, no cleaning staff. I hope when we will come back there will be more improvements.

Kids are our future where ever they live in the world!
