River Tay Salmon Fishing

What a wild and windy day it was on the River Tay today. Despite a rising river - never good for fishing - I was fortunate enough to land two lovely salmon, the largest of which is this hen salmon weighing 26lbs. The fish was returned alive, as you can tell from the darker colours that in just a few weeks time it will spawn and hopefully a whole lot more salmon will follow in the future :-)

Very glad to get back to the warmth of the hut and a coffee.
