Some Days

Whit a Stramash

The east coast of Scotland took a real lashing this morning with severe north-easterly winds driving the waves onto the shore.

The wind died down as the day went on, and the horizontal rain, which had made the morning so miserable, gradually stopped.

A muckle stramash.

The shore at Archerfield, East Lothian, with the islands of Lamb, Craigleith, and Bass Rock in the distance.

As it is twelve years since my return to Scotland, having been dragged away aged four, I am finding the courage to have a go at using some of the Scots language here. I deeply apologise for any offence caused by misuse in ignorance!
