U-Bahn München: 91/100 Therese-Giehse-Allee

Munich Underground: 91/100 Therese-Giehse-Allee

Today's entry in my strictly alphabetical Munich underground series is Therese-Giehse-Allee underground station in the Neuperlach neighbourhood. It is the second last station of the southern U5 line, before it ends (above ground) at Neuperlach Süd.

As all stops of the southern U5 extension, the station was opened in October 1980, and shares most of the design elements with them. The walls at platform level are covered with cement panels, whereas the pillars and staircases are tiled. The southern exit is constructed as a large ramp, as the station is only two stories deep under ground. As it is with all station of the southern U5 extension, like Michaelibad, Quiddestraße, or Neuperlach Zentrum, the station's design is extraordinarily dull.

Therese-Giehse-Allee concludes the souther/western part of the U5 line. It's hard to believe, but I'm really on the home stretch of my series now.

"He is squeaky clean! Do you think she's right?" "Maybe. Maybe he's tired of being the good guy; maybe he's on a bender; maybe he's knee-deep in some intern." "Gross!" "Very." - (Marvel's The Defenders, S1xE1)
