Gingerbread

Spotted this delightful cottage on a sunset walk to a buffet at the house of an extraordinary man on the Breton Île de Groix. Pierre built his home, just along the road from this one, on an elevated spot with a view back across the strait to Lorient. Having set one of my Enzo books here, I had returned to the island at the invitation of the cultural organization, Un Livre, Une Île. And was at Pierre's amazing house - complete with indoor swimming pool and sauna - to meet my hosts. This followed an hour and a half of signing books at the international islands film festival which takes place here every summer. Tomorrow it is more signing at the island bookstore, then a boat trip around the island itself.
