Conkers galore

...Hyde Park

There are lots of horse chestnut trees in  Hyde Park. Some are huge. All are covered in fruit. It's going to be a bumper harvest. (See extra photo)

Conker games in the school playground come to mind. Happy memories. Conkers was a favourite for generations of schoolchildren.

Until fairly recently.

'In 2000, a survey of British schools by Keele University showed that many were not allowing children to play conkers, as head teachers were afraid of the legal consequences if children were injured while playing the game, or because they thought that the conkers might be used as weapons.'   Wikipedia

Bonkers!
