The Fringe

I am staying with friends for the weekend just outside Stroud in Gloucestershire.  This weekend is Stroud Fringe - a free music & arts festival with stages and activities all over the town - and with nice weather too :-)

We also discovered that Stroud has its own flag - see blip.  There is a meaning to the flag, but I can't find the card which I picked up and which explains it all.  The green background is to do with the hills surrounding Stroud and the 5 pointed star to do with the five valleys which converge on Stroud, but there was a lot more to it than that.  We had a rather nice chat with the artist who created it.
