We had a quiet day with the simply marvellous Carolee. She took us out to the Ukranian Cultural Village just outside of Edmonton. I had never been before. When I was growing up the largest settlement of Ukrainians outside of the Ukraine was just east of Edmonton, which was often known as Edmonchuk. Ukrainian traditions are not far off my father's family's roots so it never felt necessary to learn more. I'm grateful to Carolee for reminding me I have a lot to learn!

On the way out we passed Elk Island National Park which has an enormous group of elk bison. Yep, not elk, bison. What mighty beasts they are!!

Tim was particularly taken with the Tesla-inspired windmill battery charger and the 'living history interpretation'. And the pigs.
