GCSE results

Penny and Ben were due to go to school at 9am to pick up her GCSE results. I was pacing up and down the kitchen for ages waiting for the phone to ring. I eventually received a text from Ben with just a number ‘8’. This meant that she achieved an ‘8’ in her maths GCSE which she really wanted. I asked Ben if she was happy with the rest and he said ‘yes’. I then called her and asked her what she’d got. She achieved an A in Physics, Chemistry and Geography, a B in Biology, Religious Studies and Chemistry, an 8 in Maths, a 6 in English Language, a 5 in English (silly new GCSE grades) and a C in Art. She was very happy with her grades but slightly disappointed with her Art grade because is means she cannot now take it for A level.
She had an appointment with the head of sixth form at 10am to discuss her A level options. She had already chosen Maths, Further Maths and Geography. She has to choose four A levels and she was really struggling with the fourth. She had bumped into the Physics teacher who had persuaded her that a Physics A level would be a good option. She wasn't too keen and the head of sixth form suggested either Economics or Photography. She was very confused but ended up choosing Physics but she can change on the first day of term.
She then went home (with a thumping headache) and packed for Reading festival where she will be until Sunday with Saskia, Maddie and Lily.

I picked up Jack from work at 3pm and we went to Plas Heli to meet Anne, Karen and the kids for a cup of tea. In the evening, we went to Wetherspoon’s for dinner with Arfon, Tash, Eila and Casi.  Anne came to join us.
