#2 granddaughter

Had a great night's sleep, pretty much till 6.30. Swam before everyone was up. It was cold! And the exit door to pool podium is stuck shut so it was out via the car park.

Has a relaxing kind of day. Amelia is a very smiley, giggly baby. Likes to be part of the action but she slept quite a bit today. #1 son has lost his voice and Amelia has a terrible croaky cough.

The main excitement of the morning was rushing to the balcony to watch the military jets scream overhead and the helicopters advancing at a more leisurely pace. Not an invasion, but a rehearsal for Merdeka (freedom) Day celebrations on Thursday. It marks the independence from the UK in 1957 of the Federation of Malaya, a country that technically no longer exists (and is certainly not on the UN list) since Singapore left in 1961 and Sabah and Sarawak (on Borneo) joined in 1963 to create the current country of Malaysia. Malaysia Day, celebrating that event, is on September 16th.

In the afternoon Olivia and I went to the pool for a very long time, over an hour. Strangely she's a bit less confident this time. Then everyone slept and I sewed.

At night we went to the Japanese 'eat all you can' hot pot buffet in 1 Mont Kiara mall. We ate too much. Came home at 9.45 via Village Grocer..

No rain today.
