Beauty and the Beast

Every year, on the anniversary of the slaying of the Beast by the Hero, the village held a feast in celebration. They would sing songs about the Hero and how he had slain the Beast so that the villagers would never again have to live in fear. Everyone was welcome at the feast. Even the Beast was permitted to listen, from a distance, to the songs that described his defeat and grisly death.
