Scientific name for Elephant seal

~Northern elephant seals can be found on the coast and offshore islands of California and Baja California. They migrate twice a year from California to Mexico and males migrate to the feeding areas in the north Pacific Ocean, in the Gulf of Alaska, and near the eastern Aleutian Islands.~

We had a wonderful TaiChi practice as usual and then the rescue team got ready to release a couple of elephant seals. What they didn't expect was that the elephant seals didn't have any desire to go to the ocean. We were told that sometimes this happens because in nature at this time of the year they stay on the beach mostly and not hunting, so they were going to release them from a boat later today.
Before I left the beach, I noticed a line of long tail boats.
