Wait! Don't Leave!!!!

After yesterday's debacle wherein we discovered we had our departure date wrong by one whole day, we somehow managed to pack everything (or so we think ...), and get to the airport in time to hop the flight to Reykjavik yesterday evening.

Not a terribly long flight, but not easy to sleep, so when we arrived in Iceland at 6:30 a.m. their time, we were both groggy, sleepy, and not at our most scintillating!  A whopping $170 taxi drive from the airport to our hotel left us somewhat breathless, to say the least, and then we were informed that no room would be ready until at least 2:00 p.m.  Fortunately we were allowed to use the "Executive Lounge" where we could have copious cups of coffee to help us from falling onto the floor in a coma.

At last our room was ready, and we collapsed on the bed and took naps.  Feeling a little more human afterwards, we took showers, and wandered outside for a look around.  Our hotel isn't in a particularly scenic or interesting walking area, but it is very clean and pleasant.

Tomorrow morning, we are headed off for a whale watching expedition.  Fingers crossed we'll see some behemoths!
