Early Morning

When so many in Texas are struggling with unprecedented amounts of rainfall and flooding, I am reluctant to talk about our own weather, however, the high pressure (or is it low pressure?) ridge has moved off and the early morning cooling mist was back. today.  The sun was beginning to come out as we walked around the lake creating some interesting effects on the water and the hills. 

OilMan decided to forego his golf game this morning in favor of making a slow cooked carnitas for some of our old back packing buddies who are coming for dinner tonight and a golf game tomorrow morning. I have camped with all of them many times but never in our house. It will be just about that since sleeping bags will be involved in order to accommodate everyone. They are coming without their 'significant others' so my plan is to decamp early and leave them to it....

I continue to hope that the people who are fleeing the flood waters find safe shelter. The magnitude of the disaster seems beyond comprehension....
