The accidental finding

Swanage beach huts

We woke in our huge tent and heard people rumbling around on the campsite. I was rather surprised to discover that it was already nine am!

By the time we'd had a fry up and washed up, it was time to set off by car to Swanage, where'd we'd arranged to meet friends from Bristol, who are camping at nearby Worth Matravers. The traffic was not too bad, apart from the mileong snake of traffic through the village of Corfe.

Having successfully reunited at the Clock Tower, we went to the beach, where Mary had a little swim, but the rest of us weren't so brave! We sat in front of these gaily-painted beach huts.

Then the friends treated us to a beautiful beach cafe lunch in honour of Steve's birthday on Monday. They all had a crab sandwich, but I had a crab and lobster burger. Mmm. After an ice cream on the beach, we separated and P and Steve went to the station to see some steam trains, and Mary and I checked out a couple of charity shops. I got two books in Oxfam. I need more books like a hole in the head!

After we'd dropped P and M off at their campsite, we drove back to ours, but later out to the village Spar shop. I'd forgotten to bring my hairbrush and comb, and couldn't find anything in the Co-op at Swanage! I'm pleased to say that Spar also sells cider...

This completed my holiday backblips. Yay!
