The Stump

A while back I asked M if he'd trim the trees and bushes around my section so, armed with trusty chainsaw, he did just that.  Great stuff :)  Just one wee problem - the hard cutting back of one tree seemed to have weakened it to the point of lifelessness, and I watched it over the following months wither and rot.  Such a shame, as it was a beautiful tree.  I've since found another one that I have bought and will plant in a similar position and whilst it will be a good few years until it reaches the size of the old one, it will be lovely to have the beautiful autumnal colours back in the garden when it does get there.  It is apparently (relatively) fast growing so fingers crossed.  In the meantime, what to do with the old stump?

When I saw M at the weekend I asked if he'd be able to cut the stump down which he said he would - arrived home today to find it all done!  Super-quick and super neat job - and a new pile of firewood ready to burn next winter!
